Detroit Construction Worker Killed in Accident
Construction workers face many dangers, even on small projects. Let’s keep this worker in our thoughts over the holidays.
MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident that killed a construction worker just past noon today on Card Road in Macomb Township.
Dennis Michael White, 56, of Holly, was moving a construction barrel when he was struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by a 49-year-old Macomb Township man, according to the sheriff’s office.
The pickup driver wasn’t injured in the accident that occurred at 12:22 p.m. south of 21 Mile. Sheriff Mark Hackel said the area wasn’t undergoing major construction; minor work was being done at the nearby Walgreens and workers needed a place to store their trucks.
